A customer required a real-time data acquisition and control system for their 200 HP dynamometer. The dynamometer is required to simulate an engine from dead stop to 30 mph, but with more stability, precision and high speed control. The controller must provide flexibility, so that control modes and test profiles can be created or modified by the operator. It must interface with the customer’s global database at the end of the test to store the collected data. This dynamometer is used specifically for torque converter performance tests and lockup clutch tests. These tests facilitate the product development and troubleshooting stages.
To meet the requirements for the 200 HP dynamometer test system, Millbrook Revolutionary Enigneering deployed its core data acquisition and control software REPS (Revolutionary Engineering Pro System).
