Engine Oil Management System Test
At a glance
Millbrook ran a series of tests on Nexcel’s engine oil management system using its test tracks at Millbrook Proving Ground.

The system, which consists of a sealed oil cell, a dock, some pipes, a pump and a keypad, was installed on a zero turn ride-on lawnmower and was subjected to a durability test to provide an indication of its structural and powertrain durability characteristics.

Details of the Test
The test surfaces and percentage split were defined by Nexcel, but were based upon testing carried out by Millbrook on a previous generation of Nexcel oil system (also installed on a ride-on lawnmower).
The test was primarily focussed on grass mowing, but also included the Belgian Pavé, Gravel Road and Berm Road test surfaces at Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedford, UK.
In addition to test driving, a number of simulated oil services were completed throughout the test to ensure that the Nexcel oil system remained fully functional and serviceable.
