Lead Service Engineer
Location: Livonia, MI for Millbrook Revolutionary Engineering, Inc.
Will be responsible for controller setup, calibration, commissioning, service and warranty tasks for REPS dynamometers, including travel to the customer sites. Will complete System Integration using a variety of components such as Windows OS HMIs, real time computers using an RTOS; FPGA, Instrumentation, PLCs, third party software; AC and DC drives, dynamometers; and auxiliary subsystems to support the test requirements. Will develop LabVIEW programs for dynamometer controller and Automated Test Equipment to meet customer needs. Will develop test scripts for customer specific requirements and execute tests using REPS software, perform report generation and data analysis. Will interact with customers for troubleshooting and debugging software, electrical, and mechanical problems. Will assist in software testing process for REPS Dynamometer software releases. Will assist in documentation using Microsoft Office suite. Will assist in training the customers on REPS dynamometer systems. Will complete continued learning of new methods and equipment to improve job capabilities and testing quality, including LabVIEW, simulation platforms, etc.
Minimum of a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or closely related field plus 1 year experience as mechanical engineer, commissioning engineer or closely related.
Specific requirements: Must have 1 year of experience with automotive component or system level testing and product validation; Must have advanced knowledge of automotive engine, transmission, driveline system and hybrid vehicles functionalities evidenced by 1 year of experience; Must have 1 year of hands-on experience with powertrain and electric motor testing technologies and relative testing equipment, including torque meter, pressure sensor, thermal couple and flow meter; Must have 1 year of experience with LabView programming and National Instruments hardware.
